Privacy Policy

Parley ("Parley," "we," "us") is a team communication and collaboration platform for businesses, teams, and organizations. Parley is owned and operated by Chemmo Holdings, LLC ("Chemmo Holdings").
This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, who we share it with, and the choices you have. By creating an account or using Parley, you agree to the practices described in this Policy and in our Terms of Service.
1. Who can use Parley
Parley is intended exclusively for adults eighteen (18) years of age or older. Account creation requires you to provide your date of birth and to confirm that you are at least eighteen. Parley is not directed to children, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18. If you believe someone under 18 has obtained an account, please contact admin@chemmoholdings.com and we will promptly remove the account and associated data.
2. Information we collect
The following categories match the "Data Types" we have disclosed on the Apple App Store and the Google Play Data Safety form:
- Identity & contact information — your name, email address, and phone number, used to create your account, to invite you to a group, and to reach you about your account.
- User content — messages, attachments, photos/videos, sign-up sheet entries, calendar entries, and other material you post inside Parley. Content you post in a group channel is visible to other adult members of that group.
- Customer support communications — emails or messages you send us when you ask for help, and our replies.
- Product interaction & performance data — actions you take in the app (which screens you visit, taps, scrolls), crash logs, and performance metrics. We use these to diagnose problems and improve the product.
- Device identifiers — a per-install device ID and a per-account user ID, used to keep you signed in, route push notifications to your device, and associate sessions to an account.
We do not collect precise location, contacts list, health or fitness data, financial account credentials, biometric data, or browsing activity outside of Parley.
3. How we use information
- To provide the messaging, calendar, sign-up, and document coordination features of Parley.
- To authenticate you and keep your session active, and to enforce access controls (for example, only members of a group can see that group's channels).
- To send transactional emails and push notifications that relate to your account or your group activity (invitations, password resets, reminders, billing receipts).
- To detect and respond to abuse, fraud, security incidents, spam, and content that violates our Terms or applicable law.
- To comply with legal obligations, court orders, and lawful government requests.
We do not sell or rent your personal information, and we do not use it to display third-party advertising inside Parley.
4. Service providers we use
We rely on a small number of independent service providers to operate Parley. Each is bound by its own contract and privacy terms.
- Google Firebase (Google LLC) — authentication, Firestore database, Cloud Functions, Cloud Storage, push notifications, and crash reporting.
- Stripe (Stripe, Inc.) — subscription billing and payment processing for workspace-level subscriptions purchased on the web. Card data is handled directly by Stripe; Parley never sees full card numbers.
- Resend (Resend, Inc.) — delivery of transactional email such as invitations and password reset messages.
- Apple App Store and Google Play — distribution of our mobile app and, where applicable, anonymized install / performance metrics provided by those stores.
- Vercel (Vercel Inc.) — hosting of the Parley website. Standard server-side request logs are retained for security and abuse detection.

5. How long we keep information
We keep account information and content for as long as your account is active. When you delete your account, we delete your profile and your authored content within thirty (30) days, except: (a) content you posted to shared channels may be retained as part of those channels' history if other members of the channel still have access (you will appear as a deleted user); and (b) we retain billing records, security logs, and abuse reports for the period required by law and for fraud / abuse prevention, typically up to seven (7) years.
6. Your rights and choices
Subject to applicable law, you have the right to: (a) request a copy of the personal information we hold about you; (b) correct information that is inaccurate; (c) request deletion of your account; (d) opt out of marketing email (we use marketing email rarely and only for product updates you can unsubscribe from at any time); and (e) appeal a decision we make about your data.
You can exercise the data export and deletion rights from inside the app (Settings → Privacy & Your Data → "Download my data" or "Delete my account"). You can also email admin@chemmoholdings.com and we will respond within forty-five (45) days, or sooner where required by law.
Residents of California, Colorado, Connecticut, Virginia, Utah, and other U.S. states with comprehensive privacy statutes have specific rights under those laws. Parley honors verifiable consumer requests under those statutes regardless of residency. We do not "sell" personal information as that term is defined under the California Consumer Privacy Act, and we do not engage in cross-context behavioral advertising.
7. Security
We use industry-standard administrative, technical, and physical safeguards intended to protect personal information, including TLS encryption in transit, encrypted storage at our service providers, per-account access controls (Firestore security rules), and server-side authentication. No system is perfectly secure, however, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
8. International transfers
Parley is hosted in the United States. If you access the service from another country, your information will be transferred to and processed in the United States, which may have different data protection rules than your jurisdiction.
9. Changes to this Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. If we make a material change, we will update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page and, where appropriate, notify you in the app or by email before the change takes effect.
